Dr. Joey Collin's Research Vertical Team has spent the past year researching, testing, and practicing Coach Motivation (CM). The purpose of our work is to investigate the outcomes of a Motivational Interviewing (MI) informed approach to workplace coaching - CM. Mechanisms of MI include open-ended questions, affirmations, reflections, and summaries. Moderators such as gender identity, race, culture, socio-economic status, and seniority at work may also be considered. Hypothesized outcomes include an increase in motivation, work performance, work satisfaction, and a decrease in symptoms of burnout. To learn more about our findings, see the below video that was presented at the annual 2020 Society of Industrial-Organizational Psychology (SIOP) Virtual Conference.
